Either way, your site keeps serving on its LimeOrigin address until the new domain is fully verified and secured, so nothing goes offline.

Register with LimeOrigin, or add one you own
Register a new domain in a few clicks (the DNS is then set up for you), or add a domain you already own. For a domain you own elsewhere, LimeOrigin shows you the exact records to add — you don't have to know what they mean.

Add the records at your registrar (if it's not with us)
If the domain lives elsewhere, log in to where its DNS is managed and add the records LimeOrigin gave you — usually a TXT record to prove ownership and a routing record. If you registered the domain with LimeOrigin, this is done for you.

Let LimeOrigin verify
LimeOrigin checks your records live and shows an honest status for each one, so you can see exactly what's done and what's still pending. DNS changes can take a little while to spread.

Confirm your certificate
Once ownership is verified, a secure certificate is issued and only then is the domain made live — so your site loads with the padlock (HTTPS) and is never switched over prematurely.
