Put the night up, take the registrations, and know who is at the door

An event page with a real number of places, a code for everybody who registers, and a door screen that tells whoever is on it exactly what each code means — admitted, already used, cancelled, or for a different event entirely.

Available on: All plans

The evening a volunteer dreads is the one where somebody is at the door with a code and nobody can tell them what it means.

What changes for your business

  • Show what is genuinely left, and say sold out rather than taking one more.
  • Give whoever is on the door a different answer for each kind of refusal, so they know what to do.
  • Cancel an event and every code stops working at the door, without chasing anybody.
  • Unpublish a page without invalidating the codes people are already holding.

Key capabilities

Places that are really counted

Set the capacity and the page shows what remains. Two people registering at the same instant cannot both take the last place — that is settled in the database, not by hoping.

Codes people can read out

Ticket codes leave out the characters that get misheard and mistyped, so somebody reading one down a phone line or off a cracked screen gets it right the first time.

A door screen that explains itself

Every refusal is its own sentence, because each needs a different response: an unknown code is a typo or the wrong event, an already-admitted one is a duplicate scan or a shared screenshot, and a void one is a cancellation.

Nobody gets in twice

A code that has been admitted says when, and says not to let it in again. Two scanners firing at once cannot both admit it.

Draft, published, cancelled

An event is a draft until you publish it. Unpublishing takes the page down and leaves existing codes valid; cancelling stops them at the door. They are different decisions and the screen treats them as such.

On your own site

The event lives on your website at your own address, so what you put on a poster or in a newsletter is a page you control rather than a listing somebody else owns.

Who it's for

A church running a carol service

Put the service up with the number of seats, let people register, and hand a volunteer a screen on the night that answers every code without them having to find you.

A venue with a limited-capacity evening

Publish the night, watch the places go, and let the page say sold out on its own rather than turning people away at the door.

Built to be trusted

The person on the door is never shown a raw code by the system — they are shown a decision and a reason. Registrations are your contacts, held under your organisation, and an event you cancel stops admitting immediately rather than at the next sync.

Questions, answered

Not here. Registration is free — an event carries no price, and nothing takes money for one. If you sell something for an evening, that is the Commerce pillar and a separate purchase.
